Small Component

We were challenged by our client to make a very small component with very tight tolerances: we did a little research and accepted the challenge. The component was to be a 90 shore A polyurethane elastomer and the tight tolerance areas had no draft and also undercuts. We grew the master on the highest resolution SLA Viper and turned metal cores to become loose pieces in the silicone tool. We vacuum cast productions from the tool holding dimensional accuracy of diameter 2.5 +/-0.05 mm. We researched different techniques to achieve the production and were very proud to have achieved such tight tolerances on a vacuum casting.
