Challenge Electronics has diverse expertise in all aspects of electronics design, electronics manufacture as well as product assembly. We are able to start from as little as your idea and have the capabilities to work through to product manufacture. Alternatively, we are just as happy to work from an already completed design. Our production methods includes volumes of manufacture from prototypes or short production runs which other makers are not interested in, commonly 10’s, up to large scale production runs of 10’s of thousands. A lot of the projects that we work on are confidential and you can trust us to protect your idea and work with a confidentiality agreement if required. Microprocessor programming is able to be carried using machine code assembler and ‘C’ compiler. We have experience in Microchip PIC, National COP8, 8048/8051, ST, Freescale and a number of other microprocessors. Prototypes can also be made at different levels in order to suit our customer’s needs; Firstly ‘Vero’ board prototypes are able to be made for proof of concept, proof of circuits or to facilitate microprocessor program writing. Secondly prototype production PCBs can be made to achieve proof of design, EMC and environmental testing or to facilitate customer trials. Lastly small volume manufacture of completed production designs is able to be undertaken for full customer evaluation. The route chosen is decided in consultation with the customer based on their specific objectives. Furthermore, we are also happy to do pre-compliance analysis and testing plus organising and overseeing CE marking of products under the EMC and low-voltage directives. In order to complement PCB assembly Challenge Electronics performs testing - using standard test equipment or purpose built test jigs, cables as well as wiring loom production, complete product assembly, final testing, packaging and despatch. Challenge Electronics has more than 20 years of experience in the design of electronic PCBs, sub-assemblies as well as finished products. Furthermore, Challenge Electronics has a long standing dedication to quality and this has culminated in the company achieving approval to the international quality standard ISO9001:2000. Approval to this standard was originally established in the year 2000 and this has been maintained through annual quality audits by the approving authority. Alongside ISO9001:2008 Challenge Electronics has been quality audited by a number of individual companies prior to the placement of particular manufacturing contracts. Of note amongst these are Glaxo Smith Kline (GSK), Siemens Landis & Staefa as well as British Telecom.
