At the beginning of 2026, we delivered this 30ft high cube shipping container. The customer needed some changing rooms for their team onsite at a chemical distribution centre.
At first this customer was interested in used cabin we already have and wanted to hire one of those. Through some back and forth, however, we both agreed that it would be much more cost effective to convert a container for them to purchase.
Converting a 30ft Shipping Container into a Drying Room
Converting a shipping container can help people when they are after a space but don’t want a bricks and mortar build. We offer a large range of conversions to help you when a shipping container must serve a more specialised purpose.
Here the customer had a number of modifications to help suit their drying room needs. They decided to get the container melamine lined and insulated and also had electrics installed.
They also wanted two separate rooms in the container; one being 10ft long and the other being 20ft long. Therefore we put in a partition wall in, splitting the room. This was as they planned to put lockers in the 20ft section.
Prior to all of this, they had some steelwork done with a personnel door and a window with shutters being added. Similarly to a lot of our other shipping containers, the conversion work was done at our yard in London.

30ft High Cube Shipping Container Delivered To South Yorkshire
With shipping containers you get two standard sizes: 20ft shipping containers or 40ft shipping containers. This means any other size (including this 30ft) would need to be cut down. Customers are often surprised to find that due to this, smaller containers actually cost more than the larger standard sizes, but this is because we have more labour going into them.
In this case the customer was limited on space and didn’t want the full 40ft. Otherwise, if you have the space we always recommend that you would get a 40ft or a 20ft to save on cost.
Near New Shipping Container For Drying Room
We offer containers in various different conditions depending on your project and budget. In the case, the customer wanted something smart, but also budget friendly.
A near new container is a great option for this. They are often only a few years older than a one trip and have been used for static storage or sat empty in a yard.
These near news won’t be as pricey as a one trip, but won’t be as rusty or dented as a used. This makes them a more affordable option whilst retaining some cosmetic appeal – great for conversion projects.
