The managing director Brian Cook decided to leave his current employer back in 2004 and start up the new company Bournemouth Avionics Ltd. Based on his longtime service within the UK military, (1983 to 1999), the company aimed to provide good quality avionic support for GA as scheduled, unscheduled and installation services. Bournemouth Avionics is based at Solent Aiport (EGHF), BAL but it initially started life as a mobile service, (which can be still offered today) before moving into a workshop at Goodwood Airfield. Moving from Goodwood to Solent Airport in September 2012 gave Bournemouth Avionics a more flexible wotking environment in which they take advantage of the hard runway and the two hangers. BAL currently operates the two hangers. Although Avionics remain the company’s speciality, the company has now been able to expand the services it offers at Solent Aiport.
