BDC SUCCESS AT LAMMA 2012

BDC Systems, the leading supplier of complete solutions for grain drying, cleaning, handling, storage and ventilation, reports a highly successful participation at LAMMA 2012. Managing Director Andrew Head says: “We received a large number of enquiries from stand visitors covering our ventilation products, handling equipment as well as our new cleaners and driers. Orders for Svegma continuous mixed flow driers are already significantly higher than at this time in 2011, including two more orders for 100tph commercial driers.” At LAMMA 2012, BDC highlighted the latest Skandia products, including new In Line conveyor outlet slides and a new design of Dust and Chaff extractor. The new In Line conveyor outlet slides are available on Skandia I line machines with capacities from 40-120tph. They can be supplied as hand operated rack and pinion, electro pneumatic or motorised versions. Their advantage over the conventional cross slide is that the slide opens down the length of the machine, saving space alongside it. This is particularly useful on catwalks over silos where space is limited. Fabricated from pre-galvanised steel plate for long life, the slide plate runs on a series of plastic rollers to ease opening and closing. A new high efficiency Dust and Chaff extractor in 80/100tph versions and manufactured from long life pre-galvanised plate, also attracted much interest. In operation, grain enters the machine on a distribution plate that spreads the product across the machine. It then passes over a series of deflectors to allow the air to be pulled through it via the aspiration fan. Impurities lighter than the product are removed by the air stream and separated from the air via an exhaust cyclone. A damper on the fan controls air volume, so it is suitable for use with all crops. “These two new products are typical of the innovation that Skandia and our other principals can offer to the UK market. At LAMMA 2012, BDC Systems demonstrated that it has the products, experience and expertise that customers need for the successful implementation of grain handling and drying projects during 2012,” concludes Andrew.
