As an industry leader of high-capacity optical transport, MICROSENS continues to expand its product portfolio to provide its customers with solutions that are optimized for business-critical applications. Metro-regional networks have witnessed unprecedented traffic growth over recent years, but network operators have had limited access to 100G solutions that allowed for cost-effective transport of that traffic. MICROSENS new 100G pluggable transponder and muxponder modules were engineered specifically for metro-regional applications. The results are three optimized modules that are efficient to operate using minimum space and power, and affordable to deploy in metro-regional networks. With these modules part of the MICROSENS 100G solution suite, customers can address all aspects of their network (long-haul, metro, regional, access, rural, etc.) with the same platform — simply by selecting the 100G module that best meets their business needs.
Key features: Optimized 100G solution for Metro-Regional networks; 85% better space efficiency and simplified sparing by replacing ten 10G modules with a single 100G coherent module; Supports up to 88 100G channels with 50GHz spacing; Metro scalability in a small form factor, with 200G in 2RU or 600G in 7RU; Multiple OPEX benefits including having fewer channels and no DCM to manage and consumes less power — 1W per gigabit; Muxponders provide cost efficient aggregation of either 10G Ethernet or any mix of 8G and 10G services including Ethernet, Fibre Channel, OTN and SONET/SDH.
