Cornwall House
CORNWALL HOUSE, ALLSOP PLACE, W1 Cornwall House is a new apartment building behind the Planetarium in central London. The buildings top flats overlook Regents Park, having beautiful views of the south west of the park. The building’s façade has a beautiful glass art canopy as well as a curved enamelled wall, as shown in this picture. The artist, Graham Jones, is better known for his windows in Westminster Abbey and the more than thirty churches in Germany who have commissioned his amazing stained glass windows. This particular canopy has been made using the latest digital technology as shown in this picture. The glass is designed to be lit from below rather than above, creating a very natural flavour to the reception. The entire project has been organised by the glass art consultant, Andrew Moor, who has been creating glass art in buildings for over twenty-five years. Mixing designs in metal and glass in the same project is unusual but the different media create an unusual but a balanced and welcoming entranceway.
