Cantilever wheelchair step lift

This Wheelchair Platform Lift provides a unique solution to overcoming the obstacle of a small number of steps. Rather than having a platform installed on a rail that runs along the string of the stairs, like our PR8 model, this platform is concealed within a 200mm pit at the foot of the stair case, meaning that it is not causing any obstruction when not in use. The wheelchair user simply parks on the platform and the Wheelchair cannot roll from the platform applies the brake. Then, using a remote control, the lift begins to operate. Firstly, a safety barrier rises from the edges of the platform so that the wheelchair cannot roll from the platform. Then the platform lifts upwards and forwards to become flush with the top step of the stairs, allow the user to alight. The platform includes safety edges around its base as well, so as the lift lowers back into the pit it will automatically stop if something is in the way. The pit is formed with a drain as well, and all of the components are sealed for protection against the weather, meaning that this Platform Lift can also be installed outdoors. The hydraulic drive pack does need to be installed in a separate cabinet a short distance from the platform lift.
