Airedale’s Service Division Nominated for (another) National Award!

Our multiple-award winning service division Airedale Technical Care (SCCUK) has been nominated for another national award at the prestigious Food Equipment Journal Awards 2019, which will be held at Birmingham’s Hilton Metropole hotel on 4th June. With all nominations coming from operator clients, a nomination on its own represents a recognition and appreciation of the service we offer. As The Food Equipment Journal explains: “A holistic approach to service and maintenance has helped Airedale Group secure a raft of new clients and expand its business with existing chains. The company has recruited a number of new staff into its service division in Weymouth over the past year, adding further strength to a 100+ technical team that provides round-the-clock support to multi-site clients. Awards from pub and restaurant group customers reflect its investment in in-house training and personnel, which includes bringing new apprentices into its service department. All this has been done with one eye on the environment: CO2 emissions from its 80-strong van fleet are down by 50,000kg a year thanks to the use of fuel monitoring technology.” Our National Service Centre in Weymouth does indeed operate 24/7, 365 days a year and is one of the busiest in the country, responding to an emergency call out on average once every couple of minutes! Multi-site operators further benefit from Airedale employing over 90 highly skilled service Engineers who are located nationwide. An increase in stock and fruitful partnerships with the leading spare part companies in the country, coupled with a commitment to exemplary training, ensures we enjoy some of the highest First Time Fix (FTF) % in our industry. Barring some act of Mother Nature, not a lot else can be more stressful to an operator than their commercial catering equipment breaking down, so our ability to respond anywhere, anytime with this high FTF is our way to mitigate this for all of our many clients, a significant percentage of whom are national accounts and pub chains. A particularly pleasing aspect of the continued growth of our service/maintenance business is that it allows us to continue to reinvest in the next wave of Engineers by way of apprenticeships. Nurturing and developing the talent of these enthusiastic apprentices is hugely rewarding for ourselves.
