Acra Screed is a specialist manufacturer and supplier of adjustable screed rail systems and concrete placement products for the construction industry.

Based in North Yorkshire, we work directly with contractors, flooring specialists and concrete placement teams who need dependable equipment, accurate levels and practical support on site. Our systems are designed to help professionals complete concrete pours efficiently, safely and to demanding tolerances.

Our story began with George Owen, who established his Building and Civil Engineering business in 1969. Having spent decades working in concrete placement, George understood the realities of site work: tight programmes, difficult conditions and no room for poor preparation. That hands-on experience led to the development of Acra Screed.

When the original Acra Screed system was launched at World of Concrete in Las Vegas, it won the award for Most Innovative New Product. Since then, Acra Screed systems have been used on projects around the world, earning a strong reputation for accuracy, durability and ease of use.

Today, George and Helen Owen continue to bring extensive practical knowledge of concrete placement to the business. Alongside the wider Acra Screed team, they remain focused on straightforward service, product quality and doing the job properly.

Our range includes the Acra Screed Ground System for new ground floor slabs, Acradeck for composite steel decking, and Acraplug for structural toppings, refurbishment work and hollow-core applications. We also supply concrete blinding plates, expansion joint systems and a growing selection of concrete accessories and tools.

Acra Screed systems are built to give contractors flexibility where it matters. Our adjustable screed chairs and rails can be set to fine tolerances, used across a range of concrete depths and adapted for level floors or more complex falls. The rails can also be removed, cleaned and reused, helping customers get lasting value from their equipment.

We manufacture the majority of our products in-house, allowing us to maintain quality, respond quickly and support the fast-moving demands of the construction sector.
