ABB invites you to visit their stand no.5565 at TOTAL this year where a host of new robot demonstrations and software will be on show dedicated to improving production efficiencies within the processing and packaging industries. High speed and superior tracking ABB will be demonstrating a cell of two IRB 360 FlexPickers, illustrating high speed flexibility, and superior tracking performance with integrated vision software. The second generation range of IRB 360 comprises of four variants and is recognized in the industry for its precision pick and place with increased speed, higher payload and a smaller footprint. An integral part of the FlexPicker solution is the reliable market leading IRC5 controller. The IRC5 with TrueMove and QuickMove ensures the highest speed together with path following facilities – enabling the robot to track fast moving conveyor belts with high accuracy. Superior control and path accuracy Making their first appearance in the UK will be the new IRB 120 robot and IRC5 Compact controller. This new robot provides an agile, compact and lightweight solution with superior control and path accuracy and is the smallest six axis robot ever produced by ABB. Brimming with benefits whilst weighing in at only 25kgs this robot arm is truly the most portable and effortless to integrate without any restrictions on mounting. With a payload of up to 3kg (4kg with its wrist down) and with a reach of 580mm the IRB 120 robot has best in class stroke and the ability to reach 112mm below its base. Initially released for the IRB 120 the new IRC5 Compact controller offers the capabilities of the extremely powerful IRC5 controller in a truly compact format. Delivering space saving benefits and easy commissioning through single phase power input and weighing in at just 27.5kgs, it utilizes many of the well known features of the IRC5 controller with familiar programming and operation, ensuring no additional training is required. Next generation in robot safety SafeMove is the new electronics and software based safety solution that ensures safe and predictable robot motion providing great savings on floor space by restricting robot motion to precisely what is needed by the application. ABB will demonstrate to visitors on the versatile IRB 1600 six axis robot how SafeMove enables operators and robots to work together without compromising on safety, thus reducing the need for many safety devices such as safety relays, mechanical position switches and guarding. Developed and tested to comply with international safety standards, this new software combines the flexibility of human interaction with the precision and handling capacity of robots.
