Conquering a complex resin flooring challenge
At Abacus Flooring Solutions, we love nothing more than sinking our teeth into a new project, whether that’s a new resin flooring installation or a more complex resin flooring challenge. We recognise that some jobs aren’t as straightforward as others, but we’re not the sort of company that rejects a job just because requires a slightly different approach. In this blog post, we will discuss some of the different types of complex resin flooring challenges that we tackle on a day-to-day basis. Old or new Sometimes our work relates to a new business and a new building, where there’s no previous installation to contend with, although this doesn’t necessarily make it a straightforward job. Our team are extremely meticulous in their approach, which includes investing sufficient time in preparation. This is a key factor in conquering a more complex resin flooring challenge. For older facilities, we recognise that existing systems, which have aged and are in urgent need of repair, may already be in place. In these instances, the first stage often involves stripping back what’s already there and essentially creating a blank canvas. Once again, we invest time in identifying the correct solution, which isn’t always the most straightforward path, but we always ensure it’s the right one to deliver an installation that serves the customer for years to come. A recent complex resin flooring project We know what you’re thinking – it’s easy to talk the talk, so here’s a recent example of a complex resin flooring solution delivered for a valued client. The project was the installation of a new factory floor, which required extensive remedial work and challenged our team to utilise their wide skillset. We also used industry-leading tools and materials to help get the job done. First, using a Hilti floor saw, we cut each side of a failed expansion joint, and then used our Hilti breaker to break out the concrete and expose the joint. After that, once the area was cleaned, we were able to use to steel pins to show the line of the joint. We then used our heavy duty, polyurethane screed to repair the concrete slab. This was a particularly important step in a complex resin flooring process, as we were able to allow it to cure overnight prior to cutting the new joint with our Hilti wall chaser. Once the new joint was cut through the slab, we filled the joint with a flexible joint filler. Following this, all that was left to do was coat the area and complete the new factory floor, featuring a joint which will now contract and expand as required. It’s a solution that will serve the business for years to come. Put us to the test Do you have a complex resin flooring challenge? We’d love to help you solve it.
