Point splitting problems: My point splitter is not splitting the drill correctly. How do I correct this problem?
Adjust the depth of point split by moving the lever under the split port. Remove the red ring, then turn the internal nut: left (CCW) if over-splitting, right (CW) if under-splitting. Re-sharpen and split again, and make further small adjustments as needed. Once correct, reset the lever and replace the red ring. If machine was bought before 2004 and problem persists, the base might be bent — contact Darex for a replacement.
