ULTRAVENT 6 - new millibar safety relief valve for gas systems

Introducing the new ULTRAVENT 6 safety relief valve from WITT, designed to effectively control even the slightest increases in gas pressure, starting from 5 mbar onwards. Compliant with DIN EN ISO 4126-1, this remarkably compact valve ensures unparalleled blow-off performance and demonstrates exceptionally accurate opening and closing behavior, consistently reproducible within the millibar range.

This valve plays a crucial role in safeguarding sensitive systems, vessels, and production processes against overpressure. Specifically, the ULTRAVENT safety relief valves offer the precision and flow capacity necessary to protect low-pressure hydrogen electrolysers, even up to 270 °C. Furthermore, these high-quality valves can serve as vacuum breakers or control valves.

Launch of a New Product Series

Model 6 marks the debut of the WITT ULTRAVENT product range, with additional models set to follow soon. It operates as a direct-acting, spring-loaded valve that opens and releases pressure when the predetermined opening pressure is surpassed. Following pressure equalisation, the valve automatically closes. As a purely mechanical solution, this safety valve is notably less intricate, cost-effective, and more reliable compared to more complex combinations involving pressure transmitters and solenoid valves.

Performance Leap with Flow-Optimised Design

WITT has achieved a significant performance leap with the innovative ULTRAVENT range, pushing the boundaries of what was previously technically feasible. The flow-optimised design allows for blow-off performance that is markedly superior to previous standards. Users can now incorporate these considerably smaller valves into their systems without compromising on performance or safety.

The opening pressure of the ULTRAVENT 6 varies from 5 to 500 mbar and is factory-set according to customer specifications. Upon request, WITT can provide a TÜV certificate for the set opening pressure.

Reliability Tested in Over 100,000 Cycles

The extraordinary reliability of the new valve has been confirmed through rigorous testing, surpassing 100,000 cycles. As part of WITT's commitment to quality, each valve in the ULTRAVENT range undergoes thorough testing before being dispatched to customers.

ULTRAVENT 6 boasts dimensions of 36 mm in length, 19 mm in diameter, and weighs approximately 45 grams. The oil and grease-free valves are suitable for almost all technical gases, available in brass or stainless steel, with connections in 1/8 inch G or NPT female thread. Optional inlet and/or outlet filters are also offered to protect against contamination and extend service life.
