Packaging Tape

Packing tapes are available in plastic film or kraft paper, each with different adhesive options. Plastic tapes use pressure-sensitive adhesive, while paper tapes can be pressure-sensitive or water-activated.

The most common choice is 2-inch packing tape, as it is ideal for sealing cartons and fits most hand dispensers. Longer-roll options such as E-tape help reduce roll changes in busy packing areas. Paper tape is a more recyclable option, while gummed paper tape offers an even stronger seal.

For temporary sealing, masking tape is useful because it removes cleanly. For tougher conditions, crossweave and duct tapes provide stronger adhesion and reinforcement, making them suitable for export or storage where heat, dust, or moisture may be an issue. Double-sided tape is mainly used for bonding surfaces rather than carton sealing.
