Wernick Buildings, a leading provider of modular building solutions, recently welcomed carpentry students from Bridgend College to its factory for an immersive learning experience. The visits took place on Tuesday, 19th March 2024, and Thursday, 21st March 2024, to showcase potential career opportunities within the modular construction industry.
The groups, consisting of young carpenters exploring apprenticeship opportunities, were treated to an engaging presentation by Wernick’s Production Manager, Tom Rhoden. The presentation provided valuable insights into the modular construction process, highlighting the innovative techniques and sustainable practices employed by Wernick Buildings.
Following the presentation, the students embarked on a factory tour, guided by Tom and Roger Davies, our Manufacturing Foreman. They had the opportunity to witness firsthand the meticulous craftsmanship and technologies involved in constructing modular buildings. From design and fabrication to assembly and quality control, the tour provided a thorough understanding of Wernick’s operations.

We aimed to provide them with valuable insights into the sector and potential career pathways.”

Myself, and the students at Bridgend College would like to say a massive thank you to everyone at Wernick Buildings, for giving the Level 2 Foundation carpenters a very engaging tour and overall experience of Wernick Buildings and what they do. Every aspect of the process we encountered was first class, it was great for the learners to see the extremely high standards they set themselves within the modular building sector.
