A Message from MD Brett Green on What’s In Store for Weiss Technik UK for the Remainder of 2024

As we reach the final stretch of 2024, I’d like to take a moment to share what’s going on next for Weiss Technik UK as we enter an eventful last quarter of the year. The past few months have been marked by significant engagements, industry advancements, and preparations for some of our most exciting events yet.

Most recently, we hosted an inauguration of our new offices in Loughborough. We were honoured to be joined by Dr. Petra Schmidt, COO of our parent company Schunk Group, and Peter Kuisle, Managing Director of Weiss Technik. During the event, we were pleased to receive a bronze bust of our company founder, Ludwig Schunk, to remind us of his wise words “Cultivating the future and the upward development of the company are the best ways to serve our loyal employees.” His bust now sits proudly in the foyer of our new office space, a fitting tribute as we also celebrate 25 years of Weiss Technik UK!

A Busy September: Conferences and Collaborations

Last month, our team had the pleasure of attending two key events. First, the Faraday Institution Conference, which brought together some of the brightest minds in battery technology and energy storage. The conference’s theme “The Battery Breakthrough: From Research to Scale-Up, to Manufacturing” provided us with valuable insights into the future of battery research and the critical role our environmental testing equipment will play in supporting the development of next-generation technologies.

Shortly before, we participated in the annual UK CEUG (UK Controlled Environment Users’ Group) meeting at NIAB Cambridge. This year’s theme was “Sustainability Through Innovation”, and invited discussions to explore the current challenges in plant and crop health. It was a great opportunity to collaborate with industry peers and showcase how Weiss Technik UK continues to lead in providing solutions for the burgeoning life sciences sector in the UK.

Looking Ahead: CTS24 in October

October brings yet another exciting event for Weiss Technik UK: CTS24, the leading motorsport engineering and technology show in the UK. Held at the iconic Silverstone Wing, located in the heart of the UK’s motorsport hub, this event offers an interactive showcase of cutting-edge, high-performance technologies from the industry-leading motorsport engineering companies. We are thrilled to engage with industry experts at CTS24, where we will demonstrate how our advanced testing solutions are driving innovation and playing a crucial role in the research and development of motorsport technologies.  

Strengthening Our Team in Q4

I’m pleased to share that we are expanding both our Sales and Service teams to provide broader geographic coverage and meet the growing demand for our environmental testing solutions across the UK. This expansion will strengthen our presence in key regions, enabling us to offer even more personalised support to our customers while maintaining the high level of care we’re known for.

We’ve already started to grow our Sales team with the appointment of Steve Harris, who will be joining us in early November and bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and experience. We’re also actively seeking additional service engineers to join us.
