Weir & Carmichael's Britwrap Wins Liverpool Daily Post Green Award

Bootle based bag and packaging manufacturer Weir and Carmichael are celebrating after winning the United Utilities Green Award at the recent Liverpool Daily Post awards. The prestigious awards ceremony was held at the Anglican Cathedral in Liverpool, on 23rd June 2011, with an audience of 400 guests. A spokesperson for Weir & Carmichael revealed, "We're delighted to have won the prestigious Liverpool Daily Post Green Award this year. Weir & Carmichael were up against two other local businesses in their category, including Speedy Hire and Eco Environment. The judges felt that the products, services and commitment to providing customers with environmentally friendly solutions merited the award. The long-established company has been providing bags and packaging since 1955. Sandbags, wheelie bins and builders bags and food grade bags for ingredients or animal feeds are core products and essential for many businesses. The latest innovative product, Britwrap is already proving to be hugely successful despite only being recently introduced.
