Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead roll out

Following the successful trial using chipped 240 litre wheeled bins, the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead have expanded their incentive based recycling scheme to a further 44,000 households using bins supplied by Weir & Carmichael Ltd. The scheme represents a new and innovative way of encouraging residents to participate in recycling. They are the first UK local authority to roll out a reward based recycling incentive using the RecycleBank scheme. Each bin is fitted with a uniquely referenced chip that allows the weight per household to be recorded when emptied. Residents accrue points that can be exchanged for vouchers and discounts.
