WHT EXTEND KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER PARTNERSHIP WITH WARWICK UNIVERSITY & WARWICK MANUFACTURING GROUP

W.H. Tildesley Ltd has moved to extend its metallurgical expertise by entering into a 3-year Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with the University of Warwick, (WMG) Warwick Manufacturing Group. W.H. Tildesley has recruited an industry experienced specialist metallurgist engineer who will work as an Associate based on-site to form a link with the University of Warwick. The tie-up will allow the company to continue to develop its forging expertise and ability to take on ever more challenging manufacturing projects. knowledge-transfer-partnerships-university-of-warwick This will add to, and augment the previous successful KTP completed with AFRC, where all parties were awarded outstanding achievement assessment by Innovate UK. A new metallurgy laboratory has been created to support KTP projects as well as supporting our daily production needs in the vast range of metallurgies that WHT now manufactures. Our product range has broadened substantially in recent times from carbon steels and aluminium to many austenitic steels, superalloys, nickel alloys, bronzes, and titanium. One of the company’s goals is to embed additional knowledge of non-ferrous and high-performance materials into the forging process. Also, to strengthen its forging diagnostic process and ultimately to implement ways to tighten control of its manufacturing variables. "WE ARE CONSTANTLY LOOKING FOR WAYS TO ADD VALUE TO OUR OFFER TO CUSTOMERS. WITHIN THE FORGING WORLD, WE SEE METALLURGICAL EXPERTISE AND EXPERIENCE AS A KEY FACTOR. THE ABILITY TO ANTICIPATE AND SOLVE PROBLEMS IN A VARIETY OF METALLURGIES EFFICIENTLY GIVES US A DISTINCT ADVANTAGE OVER OUR COMPETITORS." - PHIL HOBLEY OF W.H.TILDESLEY LTD
