Alternator failures caused by vehicle faults
Both of the vehicles above, the Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.0CRD and the Jaguar XF have inherent issues that cause the alternators to run at their maxumum output for long periods. This can cause the units to become extremely hot and in certain cases the diodes in the rectifier to blow. In very rare cases we have known these to even catch light. Due to the large number of units returning prematurely with this issue we have now included warning information with every one of these units sold. The overloading issue needs rectifying prior to installation of the replacement part, otherwise any potential warranty will be void. Part numbers concerned are UNA2877 for the Jeep and UNA2634 for the Jaguar.
