Photographs preceded a celebratory lunch for all. The afternoon began with a short presentation from John Warren, Manufacturing Manager for all Stannah curved rail production sites, about the Newburn factory, the products and the people. Everyone then took the factory tour of this up-to-the-minute manufacturing facility that produces over 12,000 bespoke curved rails for Stannah stairlifts every year. A further networking session between attendees gave everyone an opportunity to ask all those burning questions generated by the day’s events. Mike Newman, Stannah Group Learning and Development Manager, comments: ‘It was a pleasure to spend time celebrating with this year’s apprentices. Their determination and hard work has brought rewards and an opportunity to continue to grow their knowledge and expertise. Congratulations to them all. Throughout the Stannah Group we have a continuous pipeline of apprentices in many job functions. With the introduction of the Apprentice Levy in 2017 we see an opportunity to increase our current number of apprentices, particularly in engineering roles. Training and development of all our 1700 employees across the Stannah Group is key to our continued success and our apprenticeship scheme is vital as we expand our lift products and services.’ Current career opportunities with Stannah can be found at http://www.stannah.com/work/apprenticeships/
