Hotel Glazing Repairs

The team has been working hard on a DeVere hotels glazing to stop it from leaking. The glass and glazing on the building has leaked for a considerable time and we were asked to attend to offer our expert opinion and carry out a glazing inspection survey to determine why the building suffers glazing leaks. It was noted that works had been previously carried out, and in several places the glass was not engaged and poorly fitted. We are now undertaking a large scale glazing refurbishment and glazing upgrade to re-seal the glazing to ensure it no longer has leaks that have been an issue on this site. We removed the existing glazing caps and found that where glass units had been replaced, they were ill fitting and not engaged correctly into the system. Also, there were areas where the old glazing seals had failed. We are going through the process of replacing the ill fitted glass and glazing along with all of the glazing caps and installing Schüco foil backed butyl glazing tape to create an additional weather barrier. The glazing caps have then been replaced to bring this hotel glazing back to its former glory. The glazing face of the hotel is very difficult access and requires a large mobile elevated work platform to reach the top. Another, dry, happy customer!
