Glazing the Zoo

The team have done a fantastic job at the zoo, completing two glass replacements in the Sea lion enclosure. The glass installed is in the large partial marine enclosure that house a breeding pair of Patagonian southern sea lions. There were two broken glass panels on the front of the enclosure comprising 10.8mm laminated safety glass and at the back, the zoo requested that we installed a new window to enable viewing of the newly born pup. Shortly after feeding time, the zoo gave us permission to enter the enclosure (with zoo personnel) with the Sea lions and we commenced the glazing replacement works. Working with zoo to understand the needs of the animals to prevent distress, the two glass replacements were carried out with the greatest of ease removing the broken glass from the frame and installing the two new safety glass panels. The zoo is hand rearing the pup and needed to spend some time with it and as a result has asked us to come back soon to complete the works.
