Heat is generated when electronic circuits are working, and they must be cooled to avoid damage to sensitive equipment. The cooling-water circuits must be kept free from ions due to the risk of short-circuits. If ionized water comes into contact with electronic equipment, and a short circuit occurs, the consequent expense can be high.
