Haley Williams receives 2018 Dover Sons & Daughters Scholarship
SWEP is proud to announce that Haley Williams, daughter of SWEP North America. Inc. (Tulsa) employee Jim Williams, is one of the 31 children of Dover employees that have been selected as recipients of the 2018 class of Dover Sons & Daughters Scholarship awards. Through the outstanding efforts of all the HR teams across Dover, the 2018 Dover Sons & Daughters scholarship program received qualified applications from nearly every OpCo. Once received and checked for eligibility, all submitted applications were carefully reviewed by a four-member team of independent college admissions professionals from prominent universities. Now, in its seventh year, the Dover Sons & Daughters Scholarship Program continues to provide opportunities to highlight and recognize scholarship recipients. Haley Williams represents SWEP North America, Inc. and is an outstanding, well-rounded student with a GPA of 4.3. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Riveted Church Youth, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Skiatook Junior Chamber of Commerce, and she also ranks 4th in her graduating class of 180. Through her academic success, she has received several other honors and awards such as being chosen as the Keynote speaker at the Fields of Faith event where she spoke in front of over 200 other students. She was also honored as Outstanding Citizen by Oklahoma Girls State and given the Samsung Scholarship through that organization. She excels in athletics as well and has played tennis, golf, & volleyball during her school career. In addition to this, Haley has actively participated in giving back to those in need by partaking in many charitable efforts including a mission trip to Haiti back in 2015 in which she helped deliver personal hygiene items and livestock to rural communities near Port-au-Prince. She also volunteers her time at her local nursing home where she helps provide gifts around the holiday season, participates in their 'Adopt a Grandparent' program, and contributes her organizational and marketing skills by kick starting yearly fundraisers. Students will be receiving $2,500 per year for a maximum of four years/$10,000 toward their undergraduate studies, if they remain eligible. We would like to congratulate Haley on this wonderful, well deserved accomplishment and wish her the very best of luck in her future academic career!
