Fire safety and brooft4: New classification system

The release of Amended Document B building regulation guidelines of 2019, has prompted most waterproofing manufactures to take on the task of updating, reviewing and adding to their portfolios of Broof(t4) approved and tested built-up roofing systems. Soprema group are no exception and have worked tirelessly to expand their Broof(t4) tested systems, with an ongoing fire testing regime in place to cover new products and systems over the coming months and years. At Soprema, we realise the importance of safety in relation to fire. With this is mind, we now have over 200 Broof(t4) tested and approved systems. Included in these latest approvals are Bituminous, Single Ply, Structural and Liquid complete waterproofing systems in accordance with classification BS EN 13501-5. More importantly the specified Broof(t4) Soprema compliant system can be installed on any part of a roof without restriction of boundaries. This means there will be no risk of spread of flame from one building to another. Soprema have now included PIR insulation in ranges from 40mm-280mm within our Broof(t4) tested waterproofing system approvals. Inclusive of the PIR insulation is Sopratherm T, G and F covering the whole spectrum within Soprema’s Bituminous, Single Ply and Hybrid Liquid Alsan / Bituminous built up waterproofing systems.
