HazardEx Awards

At the HazardEx 2009 exhibition and conference held in Harrogate, Softstart UK was an award winner for technical innovation for their HRVS-EX medium voltage soft-starter. The HRVS-EX is the world's first medium voltage soft-starter certified for use with explosion-proof motors. This award follows hard on the heels of Softstart UK gaining the UK Chamber of Commerce award for 'most promising new business', late last year. Stuart Harvey, one of Softstart's partners said 'we were surprised enough to receive the Chamber of Commerce award but HazardEx readers' recognition of the innovativeness of our HRVS-EX demonstrates that the big companies don't have it all their own way. Small companies can move quicker to meet the demands of their customers and being close to their market, can spot and take advantage of niches in that market. We've had an amazing response to the launch of this medium voltage soft-starter and our ability to offer up to 6600 V makes the product ideal for conveyor, fan and pump starting in mines. We even received a substantial enquiry at the awards dinner'.
