We have always been an independently owned Glasgow vet practice and the owners Andy and Bob – both experienced clinical vets themselves – have always believed that independent practice ownership is the best way to deliver the best clinical care to our client’s pets. This means our vets have the clinical freedom to deal with, and respond to our client’s needs directly. In August 2019 we opened a new branch in Baillieston. This also has 2 vets, nurses and support staff. This surgery is located in what was the old Royal Mail Sorting Office in Baillieston, but we have completely refurbished and redesigned the interior to turn it into a modern veterinary surgery, fully equipped and ready to offer up to date diagnostic, treatment and surgical facilities to our clients and their pets. The surgery was designed by Peter Goolden Designs who specialises in veterinary clinics, thus enabling the building to optimise work flow, but at the same time offering a modern, fresh and comfortable facility to our staff, our clients and the animals in our care. We believe that our combination of skilled experienced professional staff working in modern fully equipped surgeries enables us to provide a high level of veterinary care to the pets of the local communities. We are a registered training practice for veterinary nurses, who – once qualified – perform a vital role in the veterinary team; doing a wide range of tasks, from holding animals for anaesthesia and are able to give advice on a variety of topics such as feeding, weight control, behaviour or choosing a new pet. All our Glasgow vets are experienced in all aspects of small animal practice and invariably are pet owners themselves. They are well placed to understand the needs of pets and their owners. At Scotvet we operate an emergency vet service and also offer out-of-hours appointments.
