Pre-Competent Person Training

Our Pre-Competent Person Training course is designed to support individuals preparing to progress towards the role of Competent Person when working on National Grid substations. This instructor-led programme provides structured, face-to-face preparation covering the core knowledge areas referenced within National Grid Competent Person Substation training, particularly NSI 6 and NSI 8 requirements. The course strengthens delegates’ understanding of safety rules, responsibilities, and operational expectations before attending formal National Grid Competent Person assessment training. It is ideal for contractor personnel who already hold NG Person authorisation and want to build confidence, improve technical understanding, and develop the knowledge required to operate safely and effectively within high-voltage substation environments.
