Powder Alloy cores - available from Power Magnetics throughout the UK and Europe. Powder Alloy cores are manufactured from a highly compressed powdered ferrous alloy. Small air gaps are distributed evenly throughout the core material and this acts in a similar way to gapping a ferrite core, by reducing core saturation at higher levels of current.
