Some sites are simply harder to clear than others. Steep banks, thick scrub and rough or unstable ground have always been a challenge for conventional machinery, often meaning longer jobs, more risk, or not being able to take the work on at all.
To help with this, Plantscape has added a remote-controlled Green Climber (MDB LV800 PRO) to its grounds clearance fleet. The compact, tracked machine is designed for ground that standard equipment can’t handle safely, and because it’s operated entirely by remote control, the operator can stay well away from the difficult terrain throughout the job.
The Green Climber can work on slopes of up to 60° in any direction, making it well suited to embankments, banks and steep verges. It comes with interchangeable flail and mulching heads, so it can handle everything from routine verge and grass cutting to clearing established brambles, scrub and small trees up to 20cm in diameter. Material is mulched as it goes, so there are no arisings left to clear up afterwards.
It’s especially useful for overgrown verges and embankments, steep slopes, rough or unstable ground, areas beside ditches, waterways and reservoirs, and sites that are difficult or unsafe to reach with a tractor or manned crew.
Most importantly, keeping the operator at a distance takes people out of the riskiest part of the job while still leaving the ground properly cleared. It also means areas that were once too slow or impractical to clear by hand can now be tackled efficiently.
