Last month our Managing Director Richard and Kim from the Accounting/Sustainability team, travelled to North Carolina in Charlotte to attend a conference which was run by Xylem, a company that specialises in developing innovative water solutions through smart technology.
With three packed days of meetings, networking and workshops it was a busy, but an incredibly insightful trip.
During our time at the conference, we were introduced to Wine to Water foundation, a company in partnership with Xylem that are committed to supporting life and dignity for all through the power of clean water. During our time with them, we were given the opportunity to get hands-on and assemble water filtration units for distribution during emergencies.
Each filter Wine to Water make, bring clean water to families in need around the world. One filter gives clean water to 10-12 people for up to 10 years.
Since returning from the conference, Richard and Kim have reflected on their time spent at the conference and have said, “It was so interesting to hear the amazing work the Wine to Water charity do around the world and the global clean water crisis. We made the filters and wrote a note to the families receiving the filter to make a personal connection. It was a brilliant collaboration and lots of fun.”
