NGK positions C17300 Beryllium Copper for small-diameter machined parts in coil-fed manufacturing. C17300, or CuBe2Pb / Berylco 33/25, is NGK’s free-machining beryllium copper rod alloy. The lead addition lifts machinability dramatically, helping chip breakage, lowering tool wear and making the alloy well suited to precision turned parts that still need strength, conductivity and fatigue performance. NGK says the alloy can be supplied in coil form, which suits certain automated turning setups. That combination is exactly why these products appear in demanding designs instead of being left to cheaper alloys that would tap out early.
