NGK positions C17300 Beryllium Copper for precision turned defence hardware in the defence industry. C17300, or CuBe2Pb / Berylco 33/25, is NGK’s free-machining beryllium copper rod alloy. The lead addition lifts machinability dramatically, helping chip breakage, lowering tool wear and making the alloy well suited to precision turned parts that still need strength, conductivity and fatigue performance. Defence hardware often needs small precise machined parts with dependable conductivity and strength. In short, it is aimed at components that must keep doing their job after heat, wear, vibration or repeated cycling have had their say.
