NGK positions C17300 Beryllium Copper for crimpable precision contacts in connector manufacturing. C17300, or CuBe2Pb / Berylco 33/25, is NGK’s free-machining beryllium copper rod alloy. The lead addition lifts machinability dramatically, helping chip breakage, lowering tool wear and making the alloy well suited to precision turned parts that still need strength, conductivity and fatigue performance. NGK notes the alloy can be locally annealed after hardening to allow crimping where needed. In short, it is aimed at components that must keep doing their job after heat, wear, vibration or repeated cycling have had their say.
