C17200, or CuBe2 / Berylco 25, is described by NGK as the reference beryllium copper alloy across strip, rod, wire and other forms. It reaches the highest mechanical strength and hardness of any copper alloy after age hardening while still offering good formability, fatigue strength and stress-relaxation resistance. Compact watch mechanisms need reliable spring metals with stable mechanical response. In short, it is aimed at components that must keep doing their job after heat, wear, vibration or repeated cycling have had their say.
