NGK positions C17200 Beryllium Copper for high-reliability connectors in the aerospace industry. C17200, or CuBe2 / Berylco 25, is described by NGK as the reference beryllium copper alloy across strip, rod, wire and other forms. It reaches the highest mechanical strength and hardness of any copper alloy after age hardening while still offering good formability, fatigue strength and stress-relaxation resistance. Aerospace connectors benefit from the alloy’s strength, conductivity and stress-relaxation resistance. In short, it is aimed at components that must keep doing their job after heat, wear, vibration or repeated cycling have had their say.
