NGK positions Beryllium-Free GMX Alloys for stress-relaxation-resistant terminals in telecommunications equipment. NGK’s other beryllium-free options group together GMX 96, GMX 215 and GMX 158 copper-nickel-tin alloys in strip or rod form depending on grade. These alloys give engineers non-beryllium choices for combinations of strength, stress-relaxation resistance, heat resistance and wear performance. GMX 96 is aimed at designs that need very high strength and strong stress-relaxation resistance. In short, it is aimed at components that must keep doing their job after heat, wear, vibration or repeated cycling have had their say.
