NGK positions Beryllium-Free GMX Alloys for heat-resistant connector elements in home appliances. NGK’s other beryllium-free options group together GMX 96, GMX 215 and GMX 158 copper-nickel-tin alloys in strip or rod form depending on grade. These alloys give engineers non-beryllium choices for combinations of strength, stress-relaxation resistance, heat resistance and wear performance. GMX 215 adds thermal stability, heat resistance and elasticity for hotter operating zones. That combination is exactly why these products appear in demanding designs instead of being left to cheaper alloys that would tap out early.
