Barry Biomass Power Plant
The Barry Biomass plant will process up to 72,000 tonnes of waste wood each year to produce electricity for the surrounding area. The plant, based in the docks area of Barry, used Thermachem drainage underneath the boiler and boiler hall to handle blow down drainage. The blow down drainage is used to release steam from the boiler to prevent it from condensing and is often at temperatures in excess of 100 degrees Celsius. Naylor Thermachem can handle thermal shock (instant temperature change) of 120 degrees Celsius and so is ideally suited to handle high temperature steam discharges that are common place in power generation. The Thermachem ranges is simple to install with the varying coupling options including a simple push fit coupling that can handle a maximum temperature of 110 degrees Celsius continuous and 120 degrees Celsius intermittently. Pipe diameters: DN150 and DN225 Coupling type: EPDM Push Fit Couplings
