Mitsubishi Electrics Visual Information Systems division, a world leader in the design and manufacture
of high quality digital photo imagery technology, will once again be exhibiting at SWPP Convention on
stand 228/229 at Novotel, Hammersmith. With long associations in the professional event
photographic market and a versatile product range Mitsubishi are among the preferred suppliers of
high quality dye sublimation printers in todays society. From instant standalone printers through to
fully functional micro lab systems, Mitsubishi can provide a one stop solution for social event
photographers.
During the SWPP Convention 2011 Mitsubishi will be demonstrating their new compact ultra powerful
photo printers – the CP-D70 series. The CP-D70DW measures just 446 mm in depth, a mere 170 mm
in height and an extremely low breadth of 275 mm. With that, it requires only 40% of the volume of
space of a comparable previous model, making it ideal for small spaced venues. The CP-D707DW is
a double-deck printer for parallel operation: with otherwise identical outer dimensions as the CP-
707DW, the CP-D707DW has twice the height at 340 mm, however, it still has less total volume than
comparable single models in this performance category.
Both models feature a space-saving front-load construction, each can be quickly filled with fresh
media thanks to the simple extension of the filling unit, a vital feature during busy events. Despite their
compact design these printers can still hold substantial volumes of photo paper, with the CP-D707DW
holding enough 4” x 6” media for 800 prints. A unique feature of the CP-D707DW is that it is capable
of producing three different size formats and its high speed processing at a mere 6 seconds per 4” x 6”
print makes it a leader in its class.
Further special features are the dust-proof housing design, which prevents penetration of particles of
dirt, and the special cooling system, which protects the new printer from overheating even with a high
throughput. A special Eco idle mode provides additional energy savings with a current consumption of
below one watt. The model automatically switches over to this mode from the standard stand-by mode
after a certain period of inactivity. The printer is immediately ready for use again as soon as a USB
command is received.
Mitsubishi Electric will also be showing the Click System, an all in one digital micro lab solution,
enabling instant photo editing and printing. Built with a touch screen monitor and digital photo printer,
Mitsubishis Click Systems are easily transportable and simple to operate; users can preview and
manipulate images before printing beautiful, bleed to edge photographs. Utilising the latest dyesublimation
technology images are durable and completely touch dry to guarantee water, finger mark
and fade resistant pictures, perfect for immediate photo prints.
DSLR cameras (check compatibility) can be connected wirelessly to the Click System, ensuring the
instant arrival of images in the working file. With no need to refresh, images can be viewed, reworked,
and printed within seconds. In addition, a Chroma Key tool allows for more creative, personal prints.
Photographers can design their own background, which could range from a creative magazine cover
to a bespoke background for specific function types. Once the background has been applied and the
perfect photo is selected, users can print directly from the screen to a Mitsubishi printer. Compatible
with a range of printers the click Systems can print between 4”x6” up to 8”x12” photographs.
Finally Mitsubishi will also be demonstrating the CP3800DW, one of the industries leading 8 inch roll
feed dye sublimation printers available today. Producing 8" x 10" and 8" x 12" prints in just 30 seconds,
the CP3800DW comes in a compact lightweight, robust design making it perfect for event photography.
