MILLERS OILS NANO TECHNOLOGY RANGE of GEARBOX OILS WINS ‘MOST INNOVATIVE NEW MOTORSPORT PRODUCT’ AT WORLD MOTORSPORT SYMPOSIUM Millers Oils, the specialist lubricants and fuel additives manufacturer has beaten stiff competition from motorsport legends such as McLaren and Williams to scoop the prestigious ‘Most Innovative New Product’ award, at the World Motorsport Symposium with its revolutionary "Nano Technology" competition gear oils range. The awards are held each year to celebrate the innovative designers, engineers and technological advances that shape the motorsport world. Millers Oils "Nano Technology" range was chosen ahead of a range of components and systems from motorsport specialists such as Williams, McLaren, Car Tech and Oxeon, for its ability to radically improve the performance of transmission oil. The "Nano Technology" range was launched by Millers in January 2009 and has been used during 2009 by a number of teams in the British Touring Car Championship, as well as many successful rally drivers, such as British Junior Champion, Martin McCormack and Scottish Rally Champion David Bogie. In extreme racing conditions, the lubricant range pioneered by Millers Oils is shown in testing to considerably improve performance over oils that utilise more ‘conventional’ solid lubricants. Reductions in friction of up to a significant 25 per cent have been recorded in oils using "Nano Technology". The science behind the innovation is based on the chemical behaviour of extremely minute particles and Millers Oils is one of the first oil and lubricants companies to successfully explore the use of this new family of additives, known as Inorganic Fullerines (IF), which are made up of structures the size of 100 nanometres or less. This technology reinforces the oil molecules, which has the key advantage of reducing friction, heat and wear in transmission components.
