19th November Millers Oils expands operations with acquisition of Falcon Lubricants Limited Millers Oils, the Brighouse-based manufacturer of specialist oil, lubricants and fuel treatments has announced the acquisition of Malton-based Falcon Lubricants Limited, in a deal that will strengthen the market position of both companies. This latest deal allows Millers Oils to expand the range of services it offers to customers including oil management services and waste oil collection management, while consolidating the future of Falcon Lubricants Limited following the retirement of company directors Bill and Liz Craven. Set up in 1984, Falcon Lubricants provides oils and greases predominantly for industrial use. The company has expanded into a £2.5 million turnover operation, selling over two million litres of oils and grease a year. Falcon Lubricants commands a high profile customer list based in the UK and has significant European export business. Millers Oils, which has been in operation for over 125 years, manufactures high quality, oils, lubricants and fuel treatments used extensively across the car, commercial vehicle and industrial sectors. Millers Oils is renowned for the strength of technical expertise invested in its products and has led the market with a series of innovations, most recently the launch of the highly acclaimed range of nanotechnology gear oils used successfully in motorsport applications, and the revolutionary petrol and diesel fuel treatments, ECOMAX, which provide vehicles with vastly improved fuel economy and emission reductions. Nevil Hall, joint managing director at Millers Oils comments: “The completion of this deal is excellent news for everyone. We have been admirers of Falcon Lubricants for some time as both businesses share the same philosophies and dedication to supplying high quality products, supported by highly experienced technical and customer service teams. “The deal is a good fit for a number of other important reasons. Crucially, it allows Millers Oils and Falcon Lubricants to share a customer base, and provides both companies with access to a wider range of markets. With Millers Oils now adding oil waste management and oil servicing functions to its activities, the acquisition of Falcon Lubricants brings us one large step closer to offering our customers a complete spectrum of services from oil formulation to safe and effective oil disposal after use. “Bringing Falcon Lubricants on board is only the latest step in a major programme of investment at the Millers Oils site in Brighouse during 2009. Other exciting projects include the erection of an additional 12,500 sq ft of warehousing space, the opening of a new distribution depot in Abingdon, Oxfordshire and various other major site upgrades. We are confident these developments will allow this established business to thrive and grow in the years to come.”
