ENGINE OIL What do users want?

A survey carried out at Autosport 2012 revealed some interesting facts about exactly what people want and expect from a motorsport engine oil. 65% of the people answering the survey were motorsport enthusiasts or race drivers, not unsurprising at a motorsport show! 56% of respondents said they valued low engine wear over and above other benefits such as low cost, low emissions and good fuel economy. Low engine wear was even more desireable than maximum power. One conclusion is that drivers realise that power is not everything, controlling engine wear through careful choice of engine oil and therefore controlling the longer term costs of running a race engine is just as if not more important.
