The practice was the vision of Jo Cashell, Director of Coton & Hamblin, who had a clear idea of what she wanted for the new retail space: Modern, clean and minimalist, but highly functional from a dispensing point of view. Mewscraft’s experienced retail designers were able to take this brief and turn it into reality, combining tailor-made furniture and fittings with Concept.s products. Mewscraft created several bespoke items of furniture to achieve Cashell’s sleek vision. For example, the dispensing table is hidden away in a bespoke wall cupboard with doors that disappear from view as it is opened. The dispensing table can then be folded down, and a wall-mounted computer screen on an articulated arm is also hidden from view when not in use. Similar design techniques ensure that the Visi-office is also completely integrated into the design. Concept.s spectacle displays fit in perfectly with the overall look and include LED illuminated shelves, the Slide drawer system and clever Swing display. These are brought to life by powerful track spot-lights from above. A stunning display table in the middle of the premises utilises a glass top and LED lighting to make the frames inside sparkle. Pull-out dispensing tables on each end, and integrated cupboards below maximise space and again help to minimise clutter.
