Meritics to Exhibit at SURFEX 2026 – Advanced Analytical Solutions for Coatings, Paints, Pigments and Inks

Meritics will be exhibiting at SURFEX 2026 on 9 and 10 June at the Coventry Building Society Arena. The event brings together companies and specialists from the surface coatings, paints, pigments and formulation industries, providing a forum for technical discussion, new developments and collaboration.

Visitors to the Meritics stand will be able to explore analytical technologies supporting formulation development, quality control, process optimisation and troubleshooting. The exhibition will also feature technical presentations, demonstrations and opportunities to discuss the challenges involved in developing and manufacturing formulated products.

Among the instruments being showcased is the Beckman Coulter LS 13 320 XR, a high-performance laser diffraction particle size analyser capable of producing detailed particle size distributions across a broad analytical range. For pigments, fillers and dispersions, accurate particle sizing can be an important factor in achieving consistent coating performance.

The Bettersizer 2600 Plus will also be featured. By combining laser diffraction with dynamic imaging, the instrument provides both particle size and particle shape information in a single system. Understanding morphology can help formulators investigate factors such as dispersion behaviour, opacity, gloss and final coating properties.

For stability analysis, the BeScan Lab uses Static Multiple Light Scattering technology to assess emulsions, suspensions and dispersions. It can identify processes including sedimentation, creaming, flocculation and phase separation at an early stage, helping shorten formulation development and provide insight into long-term stability.

The BeNano 180 Zeta Max provides sensitive nanoparticle characterisation, including measurements of particle size, zeta potential and dispersion stability. These capabilities can support the development of advanced coatings and nanomaterial formulations where particle behaviour and surface charge are important.

Visitors can also learn about the Mercury Scientific Revolution Powder Flow Analyser for assessing powder-flow behaviour and bulk handling properties, as well as the FlowCam 8000 for dynamic particle imaging and visualisation of agglomerates, contaminants and particle morphology in complex suspensions and dispersions.

Completing the display is the Lamy Rheology range, providing measurement of viscosity, flow behaviour and formulation stability. Rheological properties influence coating application, levelling, storage stability and overall product performance.

Meritics will use SURFEX 2026 to demonstrate how these technologies can help laboratories and manufacturers address challenges ranging from stability and viscosity control to tighter particle-size specifications and improved process efficiency.
