Waste Pipe For The Construction Industry
Waste pipes are used to convey waste water, often referred to as foul drainage, to the above or below ground drainage system. ABS waste pipes are available in two size options. 32mm is generally used for washbasins and bidets, 40mm is used for baths, showers, kitchen sinks and dishwashers. To make a solvent weld joint, first ensure that the outer wall of the pipe and the inner wall of the fitting are both clean and free from grit or swarf. Apply SC250 solvent cement to both surfaces. Push the pipe fully into the fitting and give it a twist to ensure that full contact has been made. Clean off any excess solvent with a damp cloth and leave for 5 minutes to set. The installation should be left for 12 hours before testing. Solvent weld joints are permanent – they cannot be demounted once the joint has been made. When using solvent cement, always work in a well ventilated area and keep the cement away from heat sources or naked flames. Avoid any contact with skin – if contact does occur then wash thoroughly with soap and water. More Details
