LP bearings are produced from bronze powder which is molded under high pressure and then sintered at high temperature. Oil is then drawn into the homogeneously spread pores of the metal under the vacuum, thus providing a self-lubricating product.
An LP bearing will withstand dry conditions in medium speed and low loads for long periods. This is widely used in domestic electric and electronic machines, electric tools, textile machines, and automobiles applications.
Special shapes such as gears and cams can also be molded.
