CUT SCAFFOLDING COSTS WITH EASI-DEC
Easi-Dec, the working at height safety specialist, has developed an online cost saving calculator to provide contractors and installers with an effective way of working out the financial benefits of using an Easi-Dec roofline platform system as an alternative to scaffolding. The simple tool compares project cost, retained profit and installation time amongst other factors, to calculate the savings achieved using the Easi-Dec Roofline System over standard scaffolding. The only information required is the hire price of the scaffolding and the number of projects per year and the calculator does the rest. “We pride ourselves on the fact that our Easi-Dec access platforms are the a cost saving effective alternative to scaffolding,” explains Soni Sheimer, General Manager at Easi-Dec. “The system has been designed to provide a safe access to roofline level, without the time constraints and costs of erecting scaffolding, which greatly extends the time spent on a project. The access platform can be installed and dismantled in under 30 minutes.” If a contractor hires scaffolding at £250 and is planning to complete 40 projects per year, the annual cost will sit at £10,000, with a retained profit of £1,000. Completing the same number of projects with an Easi-Dec Roofline System, with a one off purchase cost of £5,913, allows the contractor to benefit from a retained profit of £5,087 and an access system which can be re-used over many years. The Roofline System ensures safe access up to roof level and is ideal for gutter maintenance, roofing repairs, window maintenance, solar panels and installing satellite dishes. The system comprises two Easi-Dec platforms and a catwalk which will provide an 8 m or 10 m long working platform. Further telescopic legs allow for height adjustment and have been designed to cope with sloping ground, each leg can be adjusted in increments of 30 mm. Using the Roofline System gives the freedom to carry out work at a moment’s notice without having to liaise with a third party company and doesn’t require any tools for assembly, making it quick and simple to erect. The platforms offer a safe stable work place and a comprehensive range of accessories are available adding further benefits to the system, allowing all kinds of access to challenging installations. Alternative leg lengths mean installers can cover the majority of properties. The Rolling Window Bar provides a continuous platform support for load distribution; particularly useful on claddings, tile hangings, rendered substrates and where the platform is to be positioned over window openings.
